Then and now

Lemme start by narrating a incident to you.

Two 24 - 25 year guys are traveling by train. They are busy discussing about some software which converts videos to a format which can played on cell. There is a guy sitting next to them...may be in his teens who is hearing the conversation..
The 2 guys are talking to each other sayin how difficult it is to get full version of any software when suddenly this chap[the teen] says "UNCLE" kya apko software chaiye?you can go to this link and you can get the full version...
The 2 guys instead of been happy are wondering "were they just called UNCLE by a guy who is not more than 3 4 years younger to them " LOL...
These 2 guys were none other that snehal and rajiv two of my BMS friends....I don't blame these guys for the kinda reaction they gave...

Now lemme start with the actual post...has life actually changed after our graduation and after we have started working....May be yes..may be not...But one thing for sure the one's who are younger to us do think that life has changed for us...
There is this another friend of mine BMS again...till the time she was in college her younger brother use to come to her for all kinda help that he needed..but suddenly after she has started working..things have changed...Now he no more asks her to pick clothes for him thinking that she mite now pick clothes which are outdated.. also now he prefers her sister not been at home when his friend are around...

Its funny how things have changed over time...Suddenly we have stepped into a zone where brothers and sisters who use to look at us as
trend setters have suddenly started looking at us as a nerd's
Now that we have to wear formals most of the time we are no more cool :-P
Suddenly we are seen as the older generation and no more we are required for any help[excluding times when they require money]

Its all a story of stereotypes...seems to be the hot topic on blogger.
According to me,there should be no didi-dadas...it should only be names(exceptions for some family members exist)
but i do have a habbit of calling most working ppl in 'serious' professions as 'uncle'...and they get so pissed off!
You see the childhood image of uncle is that of a 'responsible man'...age no bar...so 'uncle' seems to be an instinctive reaction to a man who seems to be working...coz it means resposiblities, maturity etc-
a retired man wud be called 'uncle ji'(the emphasis on 'ji' being directly proportional to the age)...thats how I stereotype it as.
Some 'dadi-babas', and 'nani-nanas' in d family have often been hugely pride-hurt when i reffered to them as 'uncle'(but u see, to me, that seemed the safest option!)
